THE MEANING OF AMARANTHINE

 the story behind the name

From an extremely young age, i have always had an undying love for obscure and interesting words. I have always kept a diary which i would use to jot down new words i learned, that perfectly describe a moment or feeling. After hundreds of words and perfectly beautiful meanings attached to them, i stumbled across the word amaranthine, being the cliche, thirteen-year-old that i was, immediately inserted those 13 letters into my light-box on the top shelf of my bookshelf. Amaranthine is an adjective, the appellation is rooted in the Greek words amarantos, meaning "immortal" or "unfading,", "eternally beautiful".

My love for beautiful words continues to grow today. Be sure to keep updated with a new word added to the blog post 'beautiful words' every Monday. x
